SORRY, WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING THESE CASES

Type 2 diabetes is a life-long condition that changes the way you metabolize glucose. Glucose is a type of sugar, within your blood, that can be thought of as an important fuel source for your body. People who have type 2 diabetes exhibit a phenomenon that doctors refer to as insulin resistance; this occurs when your body produces insulin but does not use it efficiently to deliver the glucose to your cells. While there is no cure for type 2 diabetes, there are multiple ways you can help manage the condition through eating well, exercising, and/or diabetes medication. Unfortunately, some of these medications are causing serious injuries that have prompted a slew of patients to file cases by Invokana diabetes drug attorneys against the manufacturer.

There are a lot of medications on the market that can be very helpful in lowering the blood sugar of people with type 2 diabetes. Five of the most common type 2 diabetes medications are as follows.

  • Metformin
  • Actos
  • Januvia
  • Byetta
  • Invokana

Metformin is a type 2 diabetes medication that is taken orally in order to control the users blood sugar levels. This medication is often taken in addition to other medications or insulin. It is important to note that this medication can also be taken for other purposes not mentioned here. There are some side effects associated with Metformin that include, but are not exclusively limited to; muscle pain, numb feelings in your arms and legs, dizziness and light-headed, nausea, and diarrhea.

Actos is another oral diabetes medication that aids in controlling the users blood sugar. This medication is specifically for type 2 diabetes, not type 1 diabetes. Actos should not be taken if you experience severe or uncontrolled heart problems, or if you have issues with bladder cancer. Actos is capable to cause or worsen congestive heart failure. Talk to your doctor about the benefits and risks associated with taking Actos.

Januvia is an orally taken diabetes medicine that helps control blood sugar by regulating the level of insulin your body creates after consuming food. This medication is sometimes taken with other diabetic medications. It is important to note that there are some side effects associated with taking Januvia. These side effects can include the following: joint pain, trouble urinating, weight gain, headache, nausea, stomach pain, and diarrhea.

Byetta is an injectable type 2 diabetes medicine that has an intended purpose of controlling blood sugar levels. The medication aids the users pancreas in producing and using insulin in a more efficient way. Byetta works best when paired with diet exercise. This medication should not be used if you suffer from kidney disease, or if you are currently on dialysis.

Invokana is an oral type 2 diabetes medication that helps the user regulate their blood sugar levels. This medicine works by aiding your kidneys in disposing of excess glucose in your bloodstream. In order to get the most out of this medicine it needs to be paired with diet and exercise. There are side effects associated with taking Invokana, these side effects include, but are not exclusive to: light-headedness, painful urination, genital yeast infections, high potassium, dehydration, nausea, and unusual heart rate.  Other more serious side effects have been associated with use of this drug, including ketoacidosis, kidney failure, and heart attack. To learn more about the dangers of this drug, talk to an experienced Invokana attorney.

All of these medications can be extremely helpful to individuals who suffer with type 2 diabetes. Before taking any of the medications mentioned above, speak to your doctor about the associated benefits and risks.
